Forced Induction

Boost Pressure

Manifold pressure above atmospheric, usually measured in psi or bar.

Definition

Higher boost increases airflow and power but raises heat, knock risk, and stress on internals.

Boost targets must align with fuel octane, timing, and engine hardware limits.
